The Global Exchange Fair Trade Store is your Online Source for Socially Conscious Gifts , and an international nonprofit human rights organization dedicated to promoting social, economic and environmental justice around the world.

Based in San Francisco, California, it began in Berkeley in 1988 as an education and action resource center.

Today they are at the forefront of human rights issues, green alternatives, social justice and peace.

They take a holistic approach to creating change by promoting a people centered globalization that values worker's rights and the health of the planet instead of profits driven globalization.

PROGRAMS, STORES AND CAMPAIGNS

They have three physical stores to visit in Berkeley and San Francisco, California, and Portland Oregon.

Their public education program includes Green festivals, articles and publications with the latest news in fair trade.

They run campaigns designed to influence US policy, both corporate and governmental such as trade policy, child labor, peace, immigration, freedom from oil and many others.
