Have an eco-adventure at Selvatura Park in Monteverde, Costa Rica
Monteverde is acclaimed as one of the three most important tourist destinations of Costa Rica, and as an International symbol of the conservation of tropical forests.
SELVATURE PARK is a cloud forest conservation project located in the famous area of Monteverde, where a wide variety of tours are hosted. Among these activies are:
Fly High on a Costa Rica Zip Line
This is the most exciting activity, where you can fly on the zip line cables through the cloud forest. The zip line consists of 15 cables and 18 platforms. You zip across the cables using safety harnesses. It's exhilarating!
Monteverde Cloud Forest Canopy Tour
The best way to observe a cloud forest is from the top. There are a series of hanging bridges giving the advantage of being able to take your time and observe each of the forest levels as you climb up and walk around at your own pace.
THE BUTTERFLY GARDEN: One of the world's largest live butterfly exhibitions where you can see more than 50 different species of butterflies from all ove the country.
THE HUMMINGBIRD GARDEN:Perfect for after the zip line tour, you can relax and observe 14 different species of hummingbirds all from the cloud forest.

One of my favorite places is Costa Rica. And one place you cannot miss is Monteverde Cloud Forest. It is a nature preserve that offers plenty of beauty, adventure and culture. Straddling the continental divide at 4,662 feet, the Monteverde cloud forest area offers one of the most interesting places to visit in Costa Rica. Inside the cloud forest are found more than 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, tens of thousands of insect species and 2,500 secies of plants. There are 420 different kinds of orchids alone! The area has a population of about 10,000 inhabitants, a very diverse group of Costa Ricans, Nicaraguans, Americans and Europeans, among others. The area is very unique with a harmonious acceptance of several religions, including Catholic, Quaker, Adventist, Evangelist, Christian and Buddhist. The main economic activity is tourism, along with milk and meat farms. There are a large range of accomodations to fit any budget, and quaint, picturesque countryside where you'll see people on horseback and sprawling coffee plantations. There are more than 30 restaurants ranging from pizza to Latin and fusion cuisine, anything for any taste, ranging from budget to quite expensive. Monteverde has something for everyone and it's sustainable too.
