Network of European Worldshops (NEWS)

The Network of European Worldshops is a trade organization whose members consist of Worldshops throughout Europe and the world.

Not for profit fair trade shops in Europe are called Worldshops. While most are still on the European continent, they are springing up in North America, Australia and New Zealand.

Worldshops aren't just retailers, although this is a part of what they do. They organize fair trade activities and take part in social and trade justice political campaigns.

NEWS is an association of 2500 Worldshops in 13 countries. These countries are:

Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the U.K. The role of the Network of European Worldsops is to to promote fair trade and raise awareness, and help in the development of fair trade. They act as a trade association, not a brand label.

The worldshops themselves cooperate on local, regional, national and international levels, supported by their own National Associations as well.

Global Exchange offers a lot of Fair Trade gifts from the Network of European Worldshops, including Divine Chocolate. Check out Global Exchange's Sale Section to find Fair Trade gifts on sale now!
